FAQ: What, Where, When and How
What do you enjoy doing professionally?
I like projects and creativity. I like to manage project in an international collaborative context; where I can use visioning and creative skills to co-create sustainable user friendly solutions. When it comes to web, I consider simplicity the ultimate sophistication, and usability the main direction for web projects.
When did you start shaping your interests as a digital project manager?
Following relocation to Montreal, being a part of International Design Alliance offered me an opportunity to expand my knowledge of visual design and project management experience while working for Icograda - the international body for visual communication design. Later on I furthered my project management skills while working for the British Design Council, Penna Communications and Ogilvy One in London (2009 – 2011).
How do you feel about project management in digital production versus other project management tasks?
Those do not differ radically. The better project manager knows the substance, the easier it is to manage professionals and the production process. Yet, the PM should not be the substance problem solver, but rather a facilitator and coordinator for solving. Digital Media PM should constantly focus on ensuring that different experts in production teams are working on right tasks, on time, with best possible harmony, and towards common goals.
How about your interest in photography?
When travelling around the world one wants to capture some of what he sees; scenery, architecture, street life, contemporary and ancient design. My passion for photography started a while ago with my first Olympus digital camera. In past few years I have had the chance to master my skills, and learn from the colleagues in the design industry. Trips to Cuba, China, South Africa or Middle East provided inspiration and subjects.

Currently I work on SLR CANON camera. Sometimes I also try to make photographs to display an idea, as well as an aesthetic and when it works the results are great. Some of my favorite subjects include travel photography, editorial shots, urban landscapes, modern design and architecture.
Out of all places you have visited, which inspired you the most?
What inspires me is the realisation of the great diversity that we have across humanity. Recognising that not everything is great but everything is to be valued. One of the most interesting trips was my visit to Havana for the World Design Congress. It was unique trip in many ways and broadened my perspectives on life. Reminded me where I came from, and inspired where I want to go. It was one of the most inspiring adventures in the cultural context. Another one, was a visit to Beijing back in 2009 where I had an opportunity to see fine examples of modern design and understand where China is heading in the 21st century.
London, Krakow or Montreal? Where do you feel most at home?
It is perhaps Krakow where I have a feeling of home. Montreal and London are cosmopolitan, international, multicultural, with fascinating history and a unique creative character. Both offered opportunities to develop in the industry and learn trends in visual design and web strategy. Krakow is where I grew up - a bohemian, unique, artistic city, yet peaceful and intimate. A city with amazing potential that the world is just starting to re-discover. Place where I like to return to reflect on where I came from.
What is MJS Creative?
MJS Creative Ltd. is a creative services company registered in England & Wales and a brand that was developed for Photography projects. MJS Creative was registered for my freelance project management work for clients in Canada, United Kingdom and Poland. The idea came from combining letters from my first, second and last name – having something simple and easily recognizable. In a digital and creative industry one has to start with branding their own work.
